PartaY on til Dawn (LIVE@THE VENUE)

On Oct 6th 2012 I went to The Venue in Chichester to watch a production entitled 'PartaY on til Dawn'. This show was amazing from start to finish, I was lucky to be invited to watch from sound checks, run throughs to the full show.
The show had a few special guests and to start the evening off with a 20min performance was The Penny Black Choir, now they really did surprise me how they performed well known songs from The Beach Boys to The Who but made them their own. The Penny Black Choir really put their hearts into every song & rightly so got the cheers from those who watched.

The next guest I only knew as a local radio DJ on Spirit FM, never heard him sing before. Mike has a massive wealth of background in music working with Robert Plant & Gary Moore to name just a few, check him & his music out at link below http://fryedmusic.com/
Mike Fry was just outstanding, he had great banter with everyone, laughs and knowledge of what he performed. He held everyone in his hand throughout his part of the show. The host Dawn Gracie remarked on how much his vocals sounded like Neil Diamond.

After a short break the main event The Steve Christopher Band featuring guests Sylvia McEwen & Bre Kilpin AKA Breeze. Now the tracks performed were taken from SCB's new album (*all except 'Lie To My Baby) and they really rocked.

Steve's guitar was as always singing like it was alive, Pete on bass really knows how to play & real strong backing vocals, Andy on rythmn guitar in some parts mirrored Steve's to give this totally awesome guitar sound of two fine axemen in total harmony. Dwight on drums, now his work was grade one top ranks he owned those drums total control & from such a small kit they sounded like thunder.

Sylvia her vocals were so rock and raunchy and on her own numbers from the album 'Rock n roll mama' & 'Promises' she really took the stage, her power & use of vocals are amazing. She really knows how to hold a note so impressed & loved talking listening to her tell me of her love for singing/performing.

Bre came on to perform two numbers, both written by Steve Christopher & one especially for her. I have known Bre and her mother Heather for some years but never met so it was real pleasure meeting & talking but to watch her handle THIS IS IT and LIE TO MY BABY it was heaven. Winner on Sky 1's 'Don't Stop Me Now' hearing her perform you know why in seconds why she won.

At the end of the show The Penny Black Choir returned to the stage to sing with SCB 'We Are The Children' this is a strong track on the album as they all are but to see this big production it was really emotional. It was a fab end to a great show, I had an amazing night with some extremely talented people.

Sky 1 'Don't Stop Me Now' ....was a Breeze

How fantastic was it to see our Bre Kilpin AKA Breeze not only appear on
Sky 1's 'Don't Stop Me Now' but to win it too.

I first got to know of Bre via 'You Tube' and also her mother Heather who was supporting another project I was working on at the time. Soon as I heard those golden vocals it was "WOW".

Since I've known & been helping/supporting Breeze I have introduced her to various artists from many musical backgrounds all were totally blown away by her vocal talents.

First was Pete Waller AKA DeafboyOne who used Bre's vocal talents on an alternative cover of a classic track 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' which stormed the Reverbnation charts and stayed No.1 almost all of 2009 left then took the top spot again.

She was also introduced to Steve Christopher (The Chain & Moondance) who worked with Bre & composed and recorded songs with her.
This Ocotober 6th in Chichester at The Venue Breeze will be appearing with The Steve Christopher Band a newly formed rock band featuring some very talented musicians.
Breeze will be performing the songs written for her so all exciting stuff and tickets for this event 'PartaY on till Dawn' can be brought via link below

So Well done Bre re -Sky 1 and cannot wait for the LIVE show hope to see some of you readers there too - Ace

Don't Cry For Me Argentina (story behind the mix)

On 16th June I was sent in early hours a final mix of a classic song just been revamped.
'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' from the musical 'Evita'.

This has been cranked up a notch with a rock guitar rift but still tells the story with passion.
It features Pete Waller AKA DeafboyOne and Bre Kilpin AKA Breeze.

Now the story behind the song -
No not talking real story about Eva Peron we all know that already & if you don't watch the film with ole Mads in.
This is story behind this mix
Well a few months ago a friend of mine a Graham Collins who helps me with merchandise on my artists he was listening to DeafboyOne and said "I bet you he could do a wicked Ian Dury with 'What a waste' tell him". So I did 2 week later I played Graham this MP3 & he was right it was so cool had that cockney charm to it.
On leaving Graham turned to me & said "oh! for a laugh tell Pete I bet him he won't do a cover of 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' that will stump him".
Well I offered Pete this as a dare & Pete responded with "you know I can see something in that what will work".
Soon as I knew Pete was up for it I said "what if we brought Bre in?", see at time Bre was already getting known to Pete as she was teaming up for another duet for a featured DUETS EP out later in year. I first thought of only opening the track with her EVITA style cry of the song title.
Well Pete thought it was a great idea & I should ask Bre & within a few days Bre had recorded a few versions of title line & emailed them to Pete.
After a search for news reels for very start & hearing Bre we both decided it be so fantastic to give Bre more of the song.
So I emailed again & Bre recorded what you now hear on the finished mix.
The end was finished with a whisper & WOW!! GOOSEBUMPS

What amazes me is Pete is in Sydney Australia, I am in Worthing West Sussex UK and Bre is up in Linc UK and everything gets sent to that master of engineers Rod Willner also in Sydney as Pete says "the world is getting smaller"

I really hope you all enjoy the mix of Breeze & DeafboyOne
*NOTE look out for their duet coming soon 'All by Myself'& the DUETS EP (more info on that coming soon)

COMMENT FROM Juan Pablo Mazzola AKA Baby Scream (Argentina)

Well done!
It touched me man, great song, great concept.
I love the "Evita" play, of course, the real story is a bit different and a lot more darker...
PerĂ³n was a a close friend of my dad, weird stuff.
I will promote this.
Juan
